Dr. Paul J Cappiello, MS DVM
Dr. Paul received his undergraduate degree from New York Lehman College majoring in Biology and Physical Anthropology. He obtained a Masters of Biomedical Science degree from Wagner College and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University. Finally, he completed a rotating Internship in small animal medicine and Surgery at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine.
After extensive and diverse academic training, he worked at several Small Animal Hospitals across the State of Pennsylvania, before opening the doors of The Peaceable Kingdom Animal Hospital in 1997, serving Ephrata, Lititz, Manheim, and surrounding Lancaster counties.
Since then his practice has grown and continues to provide comprehensive, exceptional care to all patients in a clear and concise manner. He tailors and individualizes each patient’s care and provides clients with alternative treatment plans with tiered options of care for patients that considers quality of life, affordability and desires of the owners.
Occasionally, a cat will find his or her way to the clinic in need of a new loving home. In these instances, Dr. Cappiello has generously offered to take them in and give them temporary shelter, tending to all their veterinary needs, and with the help of our rescue coordinator and Petfinder.com, finds them wonderful new pet parents to give them the loving homes they deserve. It is this type of compassion and commitment that sets Dr. Cappiello and The Peaceable Kingdom Animal Hospital apart.
Dr. Bae, DVM
Dr. Bae was born and raised in South Korea, where his grandfather was a farmer and owned many livestock. He always enjoyed visiting his grandfather’s farm from a young age, often helping tend and care for the animals during his visits. When he wasn’t at the farm, one thing he could be found doing at home was watching National Geographic on TV – developing a fascination for big, wild cats. The thought and excitement of helping all these animals that he came to love, along with caring of small, domesticated animals, eventually resulted in his decision to become a veterinarian.
He obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in South Korea in 2009 and came to the US, where he completed a clinical year at Cornell University in 2012. Shortly after, he started his career in Los Angeles and has worked at many small animal, general practices, and emergency hospitals across the US. His professional interests within the field are non-invasive medicine/surgery and diagnostics for pets, as well as urgent care medicine at a cost-effective approach. He hopes to continue expanding on his veterinary knowledge by learning more about exotic species and non-invasive imaging, to provide a better quality of life for his furry and potentially scaly or feathered patients.
In his free time, he loves to spend time with his wife and daughter, travel and experience new cultures, try new foods and restaurants, play basketball, watch the Eagles games, and binge on new documentaries and shows.
His family currently has two rescue pets – a chihuahua mix named Ducky and a black cat named Yaco. Ducky loves hiking, car rides, and playing fetch, while Yaco loves to eat, sleep, and puke under the bed.
